Dailies and Director Cuts

How to Sell Your Soul-2.jpg

Wednesday I finally got to see all the footage from my F3, and I think it looks great. It was a lot funnier than I had anticipated, but it was the comedy I was hoping for. Dry, this-is-life-and-it’s-funny comedy.

The strange thing about seeing the footage, though, is earlier in the afternoon we had spent a few hours screening director cuts, as the first F3 editing cycle has already started. Here I am, watching my footage for the first time, when some people are almost done editing.

I’ll be in that position in a few weeks. I start editing a Parisian dance movie Monday, and then my film gets edited the following week. This is the first time we don’t edit our own film, and I’m glad.
